When I get to pull out little boy pictures of my son who is now 35 years old, I am a happy mama!
I received my Flurry of Fun paper and Artsy Add-Ons yesterday, and I couldn't believe how beautiful it all was! I have lived in Minnesota all of my life, and I am not a winter person. Well, I should say that I love the beauty of the snow, and when it's not icy but warm, I am a winter person. I guess you could say that I am a fair weather winter person!
I added some stenciling and splatter to the page, but let me tell you how it was built first so that you can recreate this page.
CM Bright White Cardstock: 11" x 11" - Adhere to center of Base
Before adhering to base, lightly splatter with CM Blue Shimmer Pen
CM Flurry of Fun Paper
Dark Navy Blue Abstract Paper: 12 x 12 Base - I have gutted out the center of the paper in order to have mats for the photos
Dark Blue Navy Blue Abstract: (3) 3-1/8" x 4-1/8"
Baby Blue Snowy Paper: 8-3/4" x 8-3/4" - adhere to center of Bright White, but before adhering, stencil with a snowflake stencil and ink.
CM Flurry of Fun Artsy Add-Ons
Tim Holtz Snowflake Stencil
CTMH Periwinkle Ink
Assorted White and Clear Gems
Black Journaling Pen
As you might be able to see, my photos are not the best quality. They were taken 34 years on a 110 camera. Crazy, right?! Don't ever let that stop you from recording a memory!
I also journaling around the outside edge of the Snowy Blue paper. I want to teach you a little something about journaling today. It would have been easy to write "Dad and Shane in the snow." But when I looked at those photos, I had so many more feelings than that. If you think maybe that your titles are boring and the same thing all the time, take the time to look at the photos, and then journal. I don't normally share my journaling, but this is what I wrote:
Shane, I don't think there was anything I loved more than seeing that smile on your face. You and Dad loved building forts in the snow! I think Dad loved seeing you laugh and hiding in the fort. I hope you take this joy with you along your life. Even as an adult, don't forget to play and have fun in your life. That will make your hards days good!
I didn't get to bring you a page yesterday. Work, dinner, and some errands grabbed all of my time, and that may happen once in awhile. But I do hope that you enjoy these posts and learn a lot as you read. Thank you so much for visiting!
