Yesterday we talked about journaling your questions yesterday on vintage photos. What about those photos that just make you laugh?
First of all, I want to tell you that I made this layout in 2005. WOW – 18 years makes a lot of difference in scrapbooking style and product, right? Things were pretty basic for me back then AND I only kind of knew about the concept of linear scrapbooking. But that’s not why we are here today! Let’s look at my journaling up close.
I took something that was from our everyday life, and I wrote down my real, honest, and really pretty funny opinion about my husband’s beard. Now how different would this page be if I had said the date and just putting the title “Jerry’s Beard”? It would have had a whole different feel, and it would probably be a page that was never looked at again. The sense of humor and the story make all the difference.
Now there’s one more layout I want to share. I made it in Studio J back in 2014. (There are still days that I miss this program!)
From the title on the left and the subtitle on the right to the photos and journaling strips, this layout makes me laugh every time I look through this book. Again, I could have written the time and place and “bowling” for a title. How much better is this?
Let your sense of humor shine in your pages sometimes. I am a firm believer that we need to put the good, bad, and every memory in between on paper. Let some of those pages be the kind that make you remember what a fun life you’ve been living!
