Pool or the Ocean?

And that's exactly what we had to decide every day when we were in the Riviera Maya. What a hard life, right?!

However, the pool had the most gorgeous view of the ocean, and it was just a few short steps away! This page needed to be documented because it's not often that we encounter a pool/ocean like this. I am so grateful that I earned so many incentive trips when I was with Close To My Heart (you can see the list if you click on my Resume tab at the top of the page). Every single trip had a reason that it was incredible.

Although this is a one-page layout, I will put it in my book next to the page I shared you a couple of days ago. For this page, I started with a Bright White base and brought in my remaining scraps of Serene Waters. I love this paper, so I needed to go searching on the internet to find some more of this beautiful retired paper. I cut eight 1 x 8 strips in different patterns. I adhered them starting at 2" from the bottom and against the left edge. I used the light side of Dual-Tone blue cardstock to cut two mats at 3.25 x 4.25 and one 4.25 x 6.25 for the larger photo mat and also cut two 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" and 4-1/8" x 6-1/8" Bright White cardstock to put directly under the photo.

For embellishment, I used 49 and Market Summer Porch rub-ons, Vicki Boutin ephemera, and Heidi Swapp titles and hearts. I still had them on my desk from the other day, so it was an easy choice!

This is a great way to use three photos on one page but still leave a lot of white space. That white space is what bring your photos directly to the forefront. It also gives your eyes a place to rest. I know it can be hard to accept white space, but try one page like this. We don't always have six+ photos to fill a 2-page layout, so creating a one-page with white space has really become my style of scrapbooking. I am an avid believer in choosing the best photos for my scrapbooks rather than scrapbooking all of them.

Isn't it awesome that we all get to choose our own style in this wonderful world of scrapbooking!
