There is something about the ocean. We have traveled to many places, but the best vacations have always been those by the ocean. Here's a little secret I'll tell you. I come up with some of my best designs for a class when I am sitting in the water mulling things over. I don't need a pencil or a sketchbook. For some reason, those ideas always stick with me!
This was in the Riviera Maya in March. We took an excursion to the Cenotes, swimming with turtles, and then a beautiful lunch at the beach. We sat eating lunch by the ocean thoroughly enjoying the sound of the waves and the color of the sea.
I journaled around the outside of the paper for this page. I always like to leave a white border. Sometimes I draw doodling lines, sometimes I journal, and sometimes I do nothing at all. But at least I've got the border to play with in case I do want to use it!
This paper is #CreativeMemories Serene Waters, and I've also used the matching vellum. In case you'd like to duplicate the page, here are the dimensions:
Serene Waters ocean paper: 11-1/2" x 6"
Serene Waters cloud vellum: 11-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Serene Waters squares paper: 8-1/4" circle (I used the inside of the jumbo Custom Cutting System with the Blue Blade)
Serene Waters dark blue circles vellum: (2) 5-3/4 x 4-1/4 (this is the first photo mat under the picture)
Lagoon Shimmer paper: (2) 6" x 4-1/2" (this is the second photo mat below the vellum
I pulled out some #VickiBoutin ephemera from Where To Next and Art for Everyone to finish the page. The lagoon twine was in my stash, and I am not sure where that came from!
Page by page, I am getting my book from the Riviera Maya done. If you know me, though, you know that pages are never a hurry for me. I like taking my time and thinking about the experience and the photo.
